When you speak in pictures, everyone benefits, including your bottom line.During this workshop, you will learn how to visualize facts, processes, data, and abstract concepts so that the slideware you include in your presentation enhance your delivery and compliment your presentation skills.

Check out the On-demand Visual Thinking package that contains guidelines for effective online and face-to-face presentations.

Persuasive Voice

audio According to a recent study conducted by AMDOCS, 80% of today’s consumers would rather go to the dentist, sit in a traffic jam or pay their taxes than deal with an UNhelpful person on the phone. An “unhelpful person” may be characterized as dull, detached, tired, unenthusiastic, apathetic… and these characteristics are delivered through one’s voice. Because of current economic constraints, more and more business professionals present virtually. Can you imagine what happens to presenters when their voices put an audience off? The purpose of the Persuasive Voice workshop is to teach participants how to turn their voice into a persuasive communication tool that exudes confidence, clarity, and, most of all, convincing power that drives an audience to action.

Method of delivery: virtually
Skills learned: presentation skills necessary for face-to-face or virtual delivery
Length: 1 hr (10-11am PST)
Cost: $199
Upcoming date: TBD

I enjoyed the presentation (Virtual Presentation Skills. You managed to keep the audience’s attention for three hours, that is an impressive achievement in any setting. I appreciate the amount of hard work that goes into a quality presentation for that length of time. I hope to put all of it to good use immediately, for a credentials pitch to a potential client.

In addition to all of the excellent points, I greatly appreciated you speaking of presentations as a “service” and the speaker as a servant of the audience in the context of addressing narcissism at the beginning of a presentation. Great point, I hope I can apply it consistently.

    Carmen and Danielle,

This is one of the best classes I have ever participated in. I learned so many skills that I have applied to my presentations (still working on the power points). Instantly, I was motivated and challenged to become a better speaker and presenter.

I have completed the book and enjoyed it very much.

Barry and I will do our presentation about what we learned in May. I will keep you posted on our progress.

I feel blessed to have met you both.

Rexified! (in my southern accent )

I participated with the Adobe and AMA webinar “You Had Me at Hello” Techniques to quickly catch people’s attention in marketing webinars by Dr. Carmen Taran on March 31st, and found it to be one of the best webinars (or seminars) I have ever attended. The content objective was to teach participants how to create and deliver memorable and effective webinars; however, the information was valuable for me at many levels in my marketing role. I actually used some of the suggestions during a presentation on Wednesday, April 1. I plan to incorporate many more of Dr. Taren’s points into my presentation style, and also into my personal style when meeting face-to-face with customers. Dr. Taren is an excellent presenter and maintained my attention 100% of the time during the webinar!

Such a departure from all other webinars on Power Point, or any other subject for that matter. Finally someone shares the secret of slide design, how to capture audience attention and engage them in the subject using the right fonts, images, photos etc. in the right way. Very professional approach.
As well, I never thought that a full day webinar would be tolerable yet I found that the day flew by. Credit to Carmen for designing a truly interactive session. By the way, the first truly interactive web-based training session I’ve ever attended.
I would highly recommend Rexi Media’s courses to anyone who wants to seriously improve the impact of their presentations.
I’m now in the process of auditing my current presentations and making sorely needed changes, and looking forward to the next Rexi Media webinar.

The Presentation Skills Seminar was great. Carmen did a great job with opening my eyes to many presentation habits, both good and bad, that I must be aware of going forward. If you are an experienced or non-experienced presenter, I highly recommend that you attend this seminar. You won’t be disappointed!

Our company recently engaged Dr. Taran for the Presentation Skills Seminar. Though I have often thought of myself as a good presenter, this presenation opened my eyes to a great many things that I will most certainly incorporate into my future deliveries.

The presentation was well put together and delivered. She kept us very engaged, entertained, and taught us a great deal.

I would highly reccomend this seminar to anyone. Thanks you, Dr. Taran.

We recently attended the Persuasive Voice webinar - I thought it was very instructive! I have been consciously leveraging my voice since and it can be quite effective in keeping people on the phone and engaging their interest. I really appreciated the opportunity to participate – thanks again :)

I took the Persuasive Voice web class and was really impressed with not only the content of the class and knowledge I attained, but also the way in which the web class was conducted and the ability for “students” to engage with the presenter. I highly recommend this course to anyone. Thank you Rexi Media! Danielle Wyss, Fergus Garber Group Architecture

I thought the webinar was terrific, and as I told Carmen…I did not multitask once during the 3-hour course! Great job!

Dr. Carmen Taran is a powerful facilitator. Her presentations are amazing. In the words of some of my colleagues - brilliant, stunning, transforming, and WOW! Thank you Carmen!!!

I have to agree with Carie Blum. I really enjoyed the Persuasive Voice webinar. It was the most interactive webinar/class I’ve attended, and it was really well done. I wish I could have participated more, but, with our office structure, it would have been too distracting to my co-workers. I have a pretty deep voice and it can be hard to use pitch and inflection effectively, so it was a timely class since I have a couple important presentations and webinars coming up. I’ve been practicing, and feel more confident that I can keep my audience’s attention. Thank you very much for letting me attend the class. I really appreciate it. I highly recommend anything Rexi does.

Having gone through the virtual presentation skills training with Rexi Media I can confidently say it has made me more effective at selling over the phone and web. There is a huge difference between presenting face to face and virtually and the Rexi Media team is skilled in bridging that gap.

I have now been to an event where Carmen spoke and the full day training with my sales team. I have also read Better Beginnings and am an avid user of your iPhone app. I really feel that your services have added greatly to the presentation skills of my team. I also like your follow up. It makes me feel as though you are dedicated to making this work for us- long after the sale. You guys are great! Thanks. Now if I could just get this conjoined twin removed, I think people might begin listenng to what I am saying and not just stare at its lifeless face protruding from my neck.

You over delivered to my expectations!! I truly found value in your Authenticity Presentation today and I am no rookie at delivering presentations to various demographics, covering a range of topics.

Looking back over my career, I can see my finest moments in presenting came when ALL I was interested in, was delivering helpful information to my audience

It is so bizarre, we spend so much time trying to build sales strategies, account plans, the right pricing to win the business and finally you’re left with the chance to deliver a high impact presentation and for many - all those hours to get to the strike zone are quelled with a presentation that leaves alot to be desired. In one day with Carmen my peers and I are armed to win business based on a first class approach to communicating with customers/potential customers. If you want to differentiate and have the impact we all apsire to, this training goes along way to travelling that journey.

  22. July 20th, 2010 at 09:54 | #22

I usually fall asleep during presentations of any sort but found Carmen to be a model of how to keep people interested and educated. Not only did I enjoy her production but learned a lot on how to adopt a better method of communication in the business environment.

    Hi Carmen,

Thank you so much for beeing so dynamic and for keeping us all wake up! It is clear our presentation needs to be improved and with your session, I feel I will be more armed to build a better one. I will also be aware of what to focus on to make sure I get my customer interest from the beginning… until the end :) Hopefully, after a great session like this, I will be better to present!

This year I have participated in both the virtual and the classroom training and I really enjoyed both. Both courses were fun, engaging, maybe a little stressful (knowing we have to present to our peers) – But hey, didn’t someone once say we are all at our best when we are under a little stress/pressure?

In fact in my 26 years in this business, this course would be up there as a best for me.

I think this training is important for us because we are always expected to be prepared to present at any time, and if we are not prepared then we all know everything will just go sideways.

I plan to use more visuals in my presentations, have less information on the page and always have a WOW factor that will grab the attention of my audience.

    Thanks again for last week,

    Hi Carmen,

Thanks for a Great Training Session! It was informative, entertaining and right on the mark. I loved the practice sessions and key points on making an effective presentation, relating to the audiance, telling a story, and using visuals to really get the message across and be remembered. This is a great course for business people of all levels who find themselves having to present their ideas externally or internally.

The training was outstanding our organization received. Everyone has commented how well Carmen did. We had folks in Europe, East Coast, and West Coast participate and she managed to keep everyone fully attentive while also very aware how to manage the time to give everyone the ability to complete tasks to end or start each day. Our group is signing up and adding several additional attendees to further training being held resulting from the positive experience we had.
